Requirements for a Principal Clinical Psychologist Job in Cambridge

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) or equivalent accredited by the HCPC.
  • Registered as a Clinical Psychologist with the HCPC.
  • Significant post-qualification experience in clinical psychology, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong experience in providing specialist psychological assessments and interventions.
  • Knowledge of various psychological models, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience supervising junior psychologists.
  • Strong understanding of mental health legislation, safeguarding policies, and NICE guidelines.
  • Ability to develop and deliver training to healthcare staff on psychological approaches.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Additional training in trauma-focused therapies such as EMDR.
  • Experience working with neurodevelopmental conditions, personality disorders, or forensic psychology.
  • Experience in leading research projects or contributing to published clinical studies.
  • Experience in working within NHS, private healthcare, or community mental health services.
