A vacancy is available for Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Ilkeston. The vacancy has opened up due to expansion and so they are hoping to hire within the next couple of weeks.

They have a ‘Good’ CQC rating and magnificent association with patients, they are a significant expansive medical procedure with more than 12,000 patients and an extensive help group to coordinate!

They have full-time hours on offer but are happy to be flexible in regard to the working pattern. The salary on offer is dependent on experience but is highly competitive.

 

 Responsibilities

  • Assess/examine patients, diagnose, plan, treat, and review/evaluate.  Assessment may be face-to-face by appointment or by telephone as part of a triage/unscheduled care team and will include patients presenting with an undifferentiated diagnosis.
  • Diagnose and manage patients presenting with both acute and chronic conditions based on a management plan which includes a medication plan and other interventions.
  • Identify health priorities and make timely and appropriate interventions to support patients presenting in an emergency and/or with complex/urgent needs.
  • Assess and manage patients’ physiological and psychological needs, including patients with complex needs, multiple diagnoses, and polypharmacy.
  • Identify patients at risk of developing a chronic illness and develop a plan for minimizing the risk of worsening.
  • Advise and educate patients, promoting understanding, self-management, healthy lifestyle choices and sources of support, and compliance with a treatment plan and medication.
  • In line with competence and agreed protocols, prescribe medication, review its effectiveness, and make appropriate adjustments to treatment, ensuring patient understanding of medication side-effects and interactions, including over-the-counter medication.
  • Ensure the health needs of all patients presenting to the nursing team are met in a clinically appropriate way and by the team member best qualified to meet their needs.

 

  Qualifications

  • RGN
  • Evidence of recent Study (PREP)
  • Recognized Minor Illness. Injuries Certificate or willingness to undertake
  • Recognized Nurse Prescribing Qualification

Comprehensive understanding of nursing practices, medical tools, lab procedures, and medication also substantial familiarity with counseling and interviewing methods.  You also have the ability to work independently, effectively communicate verbally and in writing, handle clients with tact and patience, establish and maintain records, reports, and statistical data, use initiative and judgment and maintain effective working relationships with other related agencies, professionals, and citizen groups, perform and record a total physical examination, and obtain vaginal, cervical, urethral, rectal and Papanicolaou smears, among other laboratory specimens. ability to diagnose diseases and administer the medication required to treat these medical conditions. Must be skilled in using laboratory and medical equipment.

  Skills

  •  Have recent experience in acute/primary care nursing
  • Be competent in telephone advice and triage service
  • Have recent experience in face-to-face patient care
  • Have Nurse Practitioner experience or evidence of independent practice

 Experience

  • One must Registered Nurse(RN)
  • NP-focused graduate master’s or Doctoral Nursing Program
  • Successfully Pass a National NP Board Certification Exam
